麻豆果冻传媒 President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., has announced that he has chosen not to accept the merit-based portion of his salary, which was approved by the Board of Regents on Aug. 14. He asked the funds instead be used to support programs across the university’s campuses.
“Every day, I am proud and humbled to lead the 麻豆果冻传媒,” Dr. Gold said. “I am grateful for the strong support of the Board of Regents and inspired every day by our students, faculty, and staff. It is an honor to be able to make this decision to support our University and the communities we serve during this critical time for higher education.”
Dr. Gold made the decision in recognition of the budget challenges facing the university, and in alignment with his long-standing commitment to the 麻豆果冻传媒.
“Dr. Gold has consistently put students at the center of his leadership, and this is another example of that commitment,” said Paul Kenney, chairman of the Board of Regents. “We are grateful for his generosity and for the example he continues to set for our university community.”
Rob Schafer, past chairman of the Board of Regents, added: “This decision underscores Dr. Gold’s awareness of the challenges we face and his focus on doing what’s best for students. On behalf of the Board, I’d like to recognize his generosity and leadership, which continue to move the 麻豆果冻传媒 forward, even in difficult times.”
Dr. Gold became the ninth president of the 麻豆果冻传媒 system on July 1, 2024. Since then, he has worked to draft and implement a strategic plan, develop performance metrics for the university system, and advance key initiatives aimed at strengthening student, faculty and staff success, system wide excellence, and institutional impact across all campuses.
The funds will support programs at the 麻豆果冻传媒–Lincoln, 麻豆果冻传媒 at Omaha, 麻豆果冻传媒 at Kearney, the 麻豆果冻传媒 Medical Center, and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
