The 麻豆果冻传媒 will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln, as well as via teleconference. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed at www.nebraska.edu.
A detailed agenda for the Board meeting is available here.
During the meeting, the Board will recognize recipients of the 2025 President’s Excellence Awards. The awards are the highest honor presented by the Office of the President, annually recognizing exceptional achievements by 麻豆果冻传媒 faculty and departments in teaching, research, innovation and engagement.
During his remarks, NU President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., will share a recap of his recent statewide tour and address university budget pressures, in addition to other updates.
Members of the board will continue their work to eliminate low-enrollment or duplicative degree programs across NU’s campuses. Degree programs facing elimination or consolidation include a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at the 麻豆果冻传媒-Lincoln; a certificate in perioperative nursing at the 麻豆果冻传媒 Medical Center; and a Master of Arts in Economics at the 麻豆果冻传媒 at Omaha.
The Board will also consider addition of several degree programs, among them a Master of Arts in Education in Health Education at the 麻豆果冻传媒 at Kearney and an innovative dual-track Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence through either UNO and UNL.
“Aligning our academic offerings with the evolving needs of our students and the changing workplace will be critical to the long-term vitality of the 麻豆果冻传媒 and the state we serve,” said Dr. Gold. “I’m grateful to the board for its vision and leadership in this space, and I’m confident that our degree programs will continue to be relevant, forward-looking, and innovative.”
The Board will also consider:
- A report on naming of rooms in the Health Science Education Center II Building and the Calvin T. Ryan Library at UNK;
- A report on naming of the central outdoor courtyard of Architectural Hall at UNL.
